TokuiDo Martial Arts Science Country: United States Founder: Zachory
Lee Cook (Shodai) Translation: The Way of Free Choice Year of
Creation: 2000 Goals: To formalize the study of defense
philosophy by further incorporating scientific studies into the martial arts
and martial sciences, and to introduce the concepts, theory and philosophy of
defense, and the techniques, methods, applications and approaches necessary
provide a defense system that is effective for every practitioner
individually. Description: TokuiDo
Martial Arts Science (MARSCI) formalizes defense studies by heavily
incorporating scientific studies relevant to defense. While Anatomy,
Physiology, Psychology, and Sociology are very basic studies incorporated;
other studies can be incorporated as needed to reinforce the philosophy of an
art or style (Criminal Justice, Criminology, Intelligence, Communications,
Geology, Geography, Topography, Botany, etc). Because TokuiDo
is especially concerned with the study of the development of martial arts and
martial sciences; it incorporates study of training and instructional design.
In this, practitioners ''break down'' a system to it's bare elements
(philosophy, history, individual techniques, individual movements, etc) and
learn to ''build their own''. TokuiDo MARSCI is the
study of incorporation of scientific knowledge into the process of studying
the martial arts, the martial sciences, and the development, similarities,
differences and transitions between the two. Background:
TokuiDo can incorporate any style or system, or all
styles and systems. While TokuiDo is accepted by some
organizations to be a Ninjutsu system (because of
it's versatility); it can more accurately be described as a liberal
philosophy. |
